The Town of Matthews is governed by a five member Town Council. Town Council meetings are held the first Tuesday of every month at 7 PM at Town Hall, 816 S. Wisconsin Avenue. The public is given an opportunity to speak at every meeting for three minutes each. A sign up sheet is located at the door before every meeting if you would like to address the Council. The Town Office is open before each meeting between 5:30 and 6:45 PM
David White, Town Council President
David started on the Council in January 1996. He oversees the Fire Department. David was born and raised in Matthews. He also serves on the Matthews Volunteer Fire Department. David is the Grant County Highway Superintendent. He lives in Matthews with his lovely wife, Diane.
Kenny Shrontz, Town Council Vice President
Kenny started on the Council in November 2013. He oversees the Police Department for the Council. He currently works for Automated Logic. He has lived in Matthews for the past 28 years with his lovely wife, Cindy. They have two children Elizabeth and Jared.
Tyson Nuckols, Town Council Member
Tyson started on the board in January 2015. He is the Town’s representative to the Grant County Area Plan Commission. He is currently employed at Signature Healthcare of Muncie as a Physical Therapist Assistant. He has lived in Matthews for over 10 years with his lovely wife Brandy and their family.
Dennis Kendall, Town Council Member
Dennis started on the board in October 2020. He oversees the Street Department for the council. Dennis lives in Matthews with his wife Leah.
Jeremiah Freehan, Town Council Member
Jeremiah started on the board in October 2020. He is over seeing the sewer department for the council.
Christy Kindler, Clerk/Treasurer
Christy started as the clerk/treasurer in October 2020. She is a life long resident of Matthews where she lives with her husband, Danny Kindler and two sons. She is an LPN that works for Advantage Home Healthcare.
